Matt Hurd is the Director of the Open Doors program in Atlanta.
Open Doors recruits companies with professionally managed properties willing to rent to veterans, families, and individuals in need of affordable housing. Working with skilled case managers employed by the best non-profit agencies in Metro Atlanta, Open Doors connects property managers to service providers working providing financial assistance and ongoing support to households.
Starting in 2012, the Open Doors partnership has assisted in the housing of more than 4,000 people.
Matt is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in the fields of behavioral health and supportive housing for the past 15 years, predominantly in the Georgia Community Service Board system. Matt has served as the planning committee chair and board member for the DeKalb County Continuum of Care, and a board member of the Georgia Supportive Housing Association.
A native of Florida, Matt earned his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work and Non-Profit Management from Florida State University.
