Change to COVID Protocols Effective Mon Jan 2, 2023
Airports Authority is now at Community Level HIGH. The following requirements will be in place for Airports Authority facilities. So far, this *does not* include Airport Terminals and Concourses.
- Face coverings/masks required inside all Airports Authority facilities
- Face coverings/masks *not* required when outside or alone in a closed room
- Social distancing required for all inside work areas, meetings, and social settings
- Visitors are not allowed in employee indoor work areas. Visitors allowed for essential business meetings only in limited designated locations if meeting can’t be conducted virtually
- No meetings larger than 25% of the room’s capacity
- All meeting participants must wear a face covering mask
Regarding Airport Terminals and Concourses:
- Will comply with face coverings/mask requirements mandated by the *TSA*
- Current TSA requirements (as of 10-25-22) do not require the use of masks in public terminal or concourse spaces
- Airports Authority employee workspaces in the terminals or concourses not open to the traveling public are covered by Airports Authority COVID requirements based on the declared COVID level./Added 12-30-22
D Podium Key Has Been Returned!
Thank you to the Volunteers who helped track down the missing podium key. It is resting safe and sound in the podium lock box. Please ensure keys are returned to their lock boxes after every shift. /Added 12-30-2022
TCAS/Terminal Courtesy Announcement System Not Working
The computer paging system known as “TCAS” is accepting pages but is not announcing them. This issue has been reported on 12-26-2022 and again on 12-28-2022.
Coat Closet Clean Out:
Please do not leave your TA vest or blazer in any of the info desk coat closets. We will clear out any left items and return them to the office. There was little room for winter coats. Thank you./Added 12-26-2022
Cloth Masks Are Back!
We’ve received a supply of cotton cloth masks. They will be distributed to all desks that are pre-security. /Added on 12-15-2022
XpresCheck and CDC in IAB
The CDC and ExpresCheck are conducting nasal swab testing to detect new COVID variants on international arriving passengers on a *voluntary* basis. This is part of a U.S. airport surveillance program for early detection to provide valuable information about variants coming into the United States. Volunteers are provided a free at home COVID test for participating. /Added on 12-15-2022
FIS/Federal Inspection Station:
Effective Sat Dec 10 2022, FIS will be open from 5:45am-8:00am and 6:00pm-9:30pm. This is in addition to their regular hours. Saturdays only./Added to updates on 12-7-2022
XpresCheck Covid Testing site:
The site at IAD has closed. Click the “Covid Information” button on the Dashboard for two offsite locations.
ResourcePath, LLC in Sterling seems to be more customer friendly. They are open 7 days a week. Mon-Fri 7:30a-8p, Sat 7:30a-4p, Sun 9a-5p. Walk-ins are welcome. They do same day PCR tests with results in 1-2 hours. The cost is $150 out of pocket. /Updated 12-14-2022.
Global Entry/Enrollment on Arrival Update:
CBP at Dulles will perform the Enrollment on Arrival, Global Entry interview on conditionally approved applicants at the *CBP primary booths*. This service will only be for international arriving passengers at the Main Terminal. Only passengers who have received written confirmation that they are conditionally approved for the Global Entry, Trusted Traveler program will have the opportunity to enroll. The passenger must present their Traveler Identifier Number prior to commencement of the Enrollment on Arrival interview. The Global Entry processing is available to passengers 24 hours/seven days a week beginning Thu Dec 15, 2022./Added to Updates on 12-6-2022

- Did you know Dulles has a Bike Rack?
The bike rack is located on the far EAST side of the terminal outside the Baggage Claim area. Follow the signs for the Pet Relief Area near Baggage Claim #1. Exit the Tunnel, go past the loading dock and the “bike parking” area is next to the fence, on the right, just past the dumpster. It is in the shape of the Dulles Airport!
- Effective 11/3/2022: Our “Baggage Angel” Michelle has moved out of state. Her contact information will be removed from the Info Manual. We are so sad!
- “Turo” is similar to Airbnb but for car rentals. The host arranges the pick-up location. It could be on airport property or virtually anywhere in the vicinity. The customer receives that information from the host. If you’re curious for more info checkout turo.com
- Effective October 11th Dulles Airport is one of 5 airports in the United States that will receive Uganda passengers to be screened for Ebola. CDC will be conducting temperature checks and visual health assessments of these travelers in the IAB. CDC has not issued any notice for additional safety measures at this time. - As of July 1, 2022 passports are no longer being stamped for foreign visitors to the U.S. arriving via air and sea. Passport stamping is transitioning to an electronic format. There is a laminated sample flyer at L1, L2 and the International Desk that shows how to access the I-94 Travel Record, website and also has a QR code to scan for the “CBP One” mobile app. (There is an English side and a Spanish side). We are awaiting additional copies from CBP and when we have them we will distribute to desks so volunteers are able to hand out this information to passengers. The website is: https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov
- Allegiant Airlines will be moving from Baggage Claim #10 to Baggage Claim #11.
- Virginia Breeze/MegaBus offers 3 daily trips in each direction from IAD to Union Station or Points South. Prices vary from $15-$18. More information can be found at their website- https://virginiabreeze.org/
- United Airlines new position on Kiosk 3 front is primarily a customer service and rebooking location. Unaccompanied minors – Position 26, LEO will receive faster check-in at kiosk 4 additional services
- United Customer Service Post Security locations – Only C20 remains. Please advise UA pax with smartphones to use the QR codes in concourse gate areas for quick access to customer service representatives. Business cards with the United customers service QR codes are now available at the A and D podiums.
