2021 Travelers Aid International Annual Conference
Community is Everything!
September 22-24, 2021
TWA HOTEL, JAMAICA, NEW YORK
Travelers Aid International held its annual conference September 22-24 at the famed TWA Hotel, on the grounds of JFK International Airport in Jamaica, New York.
The conference, as always, was an opportunity for attendees to network with and learn from their colleagues across the country. The event began with an opening reception and sit-down dinner on the evening of September 22, featuring a fascinating presentation on the storied history of TAI by Dr. Eric Cimino, assistant professor of history and political science at Molloy College i Rockville Centre, N.Y.
During the next two days, the agenda featured general sessions and breakout groups addressing a plethora of important topics ranging from community partnerships innovations in airport programs to best practices/recruiting and retaining volunteers. The conference ended on the afternoon of Friday, September 24, with a tour featuring a unique look at the inside of The Ark at JFK, a state-of-the-art, on-airport facility that provides pre- and post-travel animal care and veterinary services for pets, horses, birds, livestock and exotic animals.
A more detailed account of the conference will be posted in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
