TRAVELERS AID AT WASHINGTON UNION STATION
Since 1985, Shelia Dashiell has been a social worker and immigration counselor at Travelers Aid at Washington Union Station. She is currently the program manager.
In addition, she has been a program coordinator at the House of Ruth, a Washington domestic violence shelter, since 2006 and an extern therapist at Sunrise Therapeutic Services since 2016.
Previously, Shelia was the director of family services and the housing coordinator at So Others Might Eat, also in Washington, D.C.
Shelia holds bachelor’s degree in social work from Delaware State University and a master’s degree in counseling psychology from Bowie State University.
She is a member of the International Association of Addictions & Offender Counselors, the American Counseling Society, the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
