The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation has presented Travelers Aid with a challenge. If we raise $10,000 in new general operating support this year, the foundation will match it dollar-for-dollar. We need to raise these funds in direct contributions, not through special events. We are grateful to the foundation for their ongoing support and for this wonderful opportunity.

At Travelers Aid Washington DC, we provide all our services free of charge – to more than a million visitors to our nation’s capital and to 1,500 social service clients each year, including stranded individuals and families, victims of domestic violence and working poor. This year the economic climate is making fundraising increasingly difficult. That’s why the Cafritz Challenge is so valuable to keep our programs going.
